What Is Sodium chloride?

Sodium chloride, known as table salt, is a white solid. It occurs natural in seawater and as the mineral halite. It is also in the human body, where it helps transport nutrients, keep the nervous system working, and balance water and electrolytes.[1,2]

What Does Sodium chloride Do in Our products?

Sodium chloride is a food seasoning that is also a bleaching and anti-scaling agent commonly used in household cleaning products.[3] It is often used in oral hygiene products, shampoo, perfume, makeup, and a variety of other personal care products as well.[4,5] We use it in our dishwasher detergent.

Why Puracy Uses Sodium chloride

Sodium chloride is a surfactant.[7] Whole Foods has deemed the ingredient acceptable in its body care and cleaning product quality standards.[8,9] The FDA has deemed table salt as Generally Recognized as Safe.[10]

How Sodium chloride Is Made

Commercially, manufacturing sodium chloride involves injecting water into a halite vein in the earth, extracting the brine, and sending it to a refinery for evaporation and processing into granulated salt. Other methods involve evaporating seawater via the sun and wind.[6]
